Furniture

We sold our old bedroom set and just purchased the Broyhill set that I love. Hubby put it together Saturday (only the bed had to be assembled).

I have searched at several stores for a quality dining room table for the morning room. I have not found one that I like that is the right size and color. Therefore, I am left with no choice but to have one custom built to the size that i desire and stained the color that I so choose. I have priced it at one store. My manager just told me about another store where all the furniture is made by the Amish. They will also make custom pieces as well. I want SOLID WOOD ( no veneers)! I will make my decision after I visit this last store (tired of looking at this point). Either way, it will take 6-8 weeks for them to make it. I'll keep you posted.

  2. Beautiful! We have a Broyhill bedroom set and it has held up so well (except for the finish on the top of the nightstand - be careful).

I can't find a table for the morning room either, they are either not the right style/color or are severely lacking in quality (not good with kids). Good luck with your search, can't wait to see what you find!

    1. Those nightstands are always trouble. I think I might put a mat of some sort on top.

  4. Ladies, here are a few furniture stores to get your custom tables built. You pick, the legs, the wood, the fabric, decide if you want a two-tone wood table, decide if you want a bread bench leaf or built without extensions etc. The options are endless. Arhaus is my favorite because the Cambridge Collection is bench made which means everything is made by hand, no two pieces are alike in nature and the wood comes from Italy. You can also have your dining room table built to the size of your choice and the same is true of the chairs You can have them custom built too. You also have Bassett, Ethan Allen, Thomasville etc that customizes beautiful furniture too. It reminds me of purchasing your home. LOADS OF FUN!!

ENJOY YOUR JOURNEY PINKRAGE! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT!

    1. Thanks! I don't think we have an Arhaus in NC. I never heard of that one. I LOVE Bassett. My couch is from Bassett. I love picking my legs, type of arms and having a vast array of material to choose from.

I haven't checked out Ethan Allen since I thought they would be better if I wanted a formal dining (which I don't need).

Speaking of formal, my formal dining room table is Kincaid (a division of LayZboy)...LOVE IT. It is SOLID wood and SO heavy. It looks good to this day and we've had it for at least 5 years now.

    2. Hi Pinkrage! There is an Arhause in NC and the warehouse is there too! I work at ArHaus. I believe there may be an outlet or warehouse sales too!

  5. I highly recommend Amish built furniture as well. Our former dining room set was built by the Amish, as was our current dinette set and matching breakfast bar stools, coffee table, entertainment center, and foyer table. They will build what you want, the size you want, the stain you want, and it seriously lasts forever. The chairs hold an incredible amount of weight. Some of the builders even inscribe your family name on the underside of the table and chairs, which I thought was pretty neat. They really make beautiful, quality pieces.
