Granite

I know...it's been a long time. I have a bone to pick. I knew we had to seal the tile in the bathrooms but was never told to seal the granite in the bathroom. My granite has oil stains and that shouldn't happen if it was properly sealed. I'm hoping that I can get the stains out. I just ordered a product and will let you know. Glad I only had Ryan install granite in one bathroom.

I will have Metro Stone & Granite (company that installed kitchen granite) put Santa Cecelia in the first floor bathroom. I like the thickness of the kitchen granite vs. the bathroom granite. It's lower on the priority list but will definitely be done.

Happy Building and Decorating!!

    1. The kitchen granite was installed by another company, it was sealed. The bathroom granite doesn't seem to be!

  2. Oh no....sorry about that!

I learn about that recently when I was researching about the grout sealer. I was surprised too. We are definitely going to do that.

  3. All granite needs to be sealed. Usually once a year. Even water can get into it and leave stains.

    1. I know that you are supposed to seal it once a year but I thought the initial seal was on Ryan! I will seal it once I get these stains out.

I guess those are water stains. There is only one spot that I know is oil because of a sample that was leaking.

  5. I was told by our PM that we did not need to seal the kitchen granite because they would do it. I did purchase a granite sealer and cleaner that I use just about every week to keep it's luster. I did not think aobut it but I guess I should use it in the bathroom too which seems to doing well. I think I will also just pick up a sealer just to be on the safe side. Hope this works out, PINKRAGE! keep us posted. How are you enjoying your new home.
