If you purchased blinds for your house, what brand did you use? Where did you purchase? In our last house we used a company that specialized in blinds. It was kind of expensive. I'm not sure if we will go that route again this time.
Please share your experience with store purchased vs. custom blinds.

DeleteHey there! I love the Home Depot blinds too. They have a white faux wood (2.5 in) with a decorative valance and the cords that tie into one single pull. We also invested $118 in the measuring/installation service. (it could be more than this depending on the type of windows that you have but fbthey are standard then you're good) For that extra fee a representative from a local blinds place came out to the house and measured all the windows. We then went back HD and paid for the blinds. They are cutting them to size and then the same lady will install them. We decided to pick up the blinds ourselves once they were ready because it would have been an additional fee. We had them measured this past week so they should be ready to install right after settlement. We thought it was a pretty good deal though- we hung te blinds in our last house and $118 is worth the money to have someone else do it.
ReplyDeleteWe're having RH put blinds in the bedrooms (since I wanted privacy immediately), but priced out Lowes & IIRC it was about $10/window cheaper than what RH charged for the blinds + installation.
ReplyDeleteWell I guess the cost varies by region. Here in NC, the faux blinds from RH cost $70 a blind...that is much more expensive than any big box store. We don't need installation since that is pretty simple and my hubby is handy.
DeleteWe used Blinds to Go. We paid $40 to have all the windows measured and $200 for installation. If you're just looking for cellular shades, we paid about $50 per window. I did do speciality blinds, like the roman shades, which were $200 a window and the Serenity shades which were about $350.00. Blinds to Go was not cheap, but they were fast. I like my selections too.

Our windows are inset and we have large returns on the sides so inside mounting is easy. Ours are also 34-3/4" wide... All of them are the same size in our house.
Thanks, our windows are the same size per my SR. We will measure them once they are installed prior to buying the blinds.
